Ayr goes electric!
 EV Roadshow comes to town

--- Home Energy Scotland brings Tesla Model S and Model X, BMW i3 and 330e, Nissan Leaf, Renault ZOE and others all under one roof ---
--- Love the EV Experience and test drive an electric car for free at Ayr Racecourse event ---

Ayr is set to welcome a wide range of pure electric and plug-in hybrid cars, as the town hosts its first ever EV Roadshow.

The free event on Saturday 24 February at Ayr Racecourse, will give drivers in the south west unprecedented access to some of the most exciting electric and plug-in hybrid cars on the market today, including the Tesla Model S and Model X, BMW i3 and 330e, Nissan Leaf and the Renault ZOE.

As well as the opportunity to speak to experts about the cars on show, Home Energy Scotland specialist transport advisors will be on hand to offer independent advice about the benefits of going electric and to talk through the financial support available including how to access an interest-free loan of up to £35,000 to buy a new electric or plug-in hybrid car.  Charge points will be on display and our advisors can explain the funding for home charging and advise drivers on how to use public charging.

Matthew Eastwood, Head of Transport, Scotland, from Energy Saving Trust said:

“Driving an EV compared to a petrol or diesel car could save you up to £320 on average every year. As well as lower running costs, electric cars are easy and fun to drive, with no engine noise. Both the Tesla Model S and the BMW i3 are widely recognised as two of the most desirable cars on the market.

“Renault ZOE and Nissan Leaf are more affordable, but by no means less impressive. With longer ranges than ever before and zero-interest loans available to help with purchase, there’s no better time to switch to electric.”

The free event will be from 10am-4pm on Saturday 24th February 2018. For more information, visit http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/ev-roadshow-ayr
