The Scottish Fair Trade Awards 2017

Fair Trade campaigners, businesses and supporters came together on Thursday 12th October to celebrate the 5th annual Scottish Fair Trade Awards. The event, organised in collaboration with Rainbow Turtle, took place in Paisley's St. Mirin's Catheral. Following the awards, attendees enjoyed an inspiring talk from visiting producer, Sneha Kapur, Marketing Manager at the Indian-based manufacturer Mandala Apparels as well as a delicious Fair Trade meal.
The Fair Trade and Climate Change Award is a new award this year to recognise groups who are taking action to raise awareness of the links between Fair Trade and combatting climate change. The winners of this award are from Kyle Academy who are a group of hard-working and committed individuals who have achieved “Fair Achiever” status for their school twice. They have also helped the school to achieve the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award, as well as winning the Gold Medal of South Ayrshire’s Provost Footprint Challenge with their co-operative work with the school’s eco group.
