We are delighted to have welcomed the first group of students from Ayrshire College to Nethermills Hydro Scheme.
The visit gave these Electrical Engineering students valuable, real-world insights into renewable energy technology and the mechanics behind hydroelectric power generation. They explored the inner workings of the turbine system, learning how we harness the River Ayr’s flow to produce clean, sustainable electricity. We hope this experience supports their training and inspires them to apply their skills towards a future of green engineering and innovation.

Education about renewable energy is a key focus for the Energy Agency, and we hope to continue expanding our engagement activities to inspire future generations.
